Patrick Hawekotte is an accounting and finance professional with 15+ years of experience across financial reporting, transaction advisory, and operational financial leadership for venture-backed and private equity sponsored startups. His background includes providing transaction advisory support, technical accounting guidance, and financial leadership to both public and private companies across a wide range of industries and organizational phases. He currently serves as Managing Director of Hawekotte Summit Advisory, a boutique advisory firm providing finance, accounting, and other services to SMBs at various stages of development.

In the role of Director of CFO and Consulting Services at Xylinx, Patrick oversaw the day-to-day management for a portfolio of 40 client SMBs and was accountable for managing the firm’s largest client, a multinational life science company based in France, which accounted for 20% of firm-wide revenue. As Consulting Controller at Gray Fox Collective, he was responsible for providing scoping services for the firm’s prospective client pipeline, increasing firm-wide ARR by 15%.

Areas of Expertise

As Interim Controller at Patterson Nursery Sales, Patrick brought an outsourced accounting function in-house, reduced the month-end close cycle by 75%, and supervised the sell-side due diligence efforts of the Company, coordinating with two different prospective private equity fund buyers and their deal teams. Previously as Financial Reporting Manager at Tilt Holdings, Patrick spearheaded the Company’s Form 10 filing working closely with the Company’s C-Suite, external legal counsel, and various other stakeholders to successfully register the Company with the SEC after it outgrew its foreign private issuer (“FPI”) status.

Earlier in his career, Patrick held leadership roles in both public and private entities, overseeing the financial filings of SEC registrants, providing transaction advisory support to start-up companies, and streamlining operations and technology solutions to optimize growth and scalability. With a blend of public and private experience Patrick has led teams in various industries to implement ERPs, work through mergers and acquisitions, navigate IPO readiness, and build-out accounting and finance functions from scratch.

Whether Patrick is cleaning up a multi-entity close, preparing a company for a transaction, or building the reporting package a lender or sponsor expects, he brings the same approach: get the numbers right, put processes in place that hold up, and give owners the visibility they need to make confident decisions. Patrick is based in the Denver, Colorado area.

 

Patrick holds a Master of Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kansas.
