Patrick Harrington is a finance and investment professional with 15+ years of experience across fund finance, valuation, and financial leadership for venture-backed startups and emerging fund managers. His background includes valuation and financial advisory work for private and public companies across a wide range of industries and stages of development. He currently serves as a Principal leading finance and strategy at Ven^x, a platform providing finance, accounting, fundraising support, and other services to early-to-mid-stage companies.

In the role of Fractional CFO at The Venture Dept, Patrick ran day-to-day finance for two active venture funds, coordinated audits, and prepared investor communications for LPs. As Head of Finance and Valuations at GetDynasty, he built the company’s first accurate ARR calculation, launched a new Gift & Estate valuation practice that scaled to 275+ engagements within seven months, and helped facilitate a $1M+ financing bridge.

Areas of Expertise

Earlier in Patrick’s career as a Principal at Anzu Partners, he led the firm’s fund finance and valuation functions – developing structured financing solutions and coordinating with lenders, investors, and fund administrators across multiple investment vehicles. He led financial and diligence work on a $425M SPAC, assessing more than 700 acquisition targets before guiding the deal through close, and helped grow firm AUM from $350M to $1.5B+. 

He also secured a $50M NAV facility across multiple funds and provided ongoing financial and strategic support to more than 35 portfolio companies. Before Anzu Partners, he served as a Manager at Carta, where he built and led the firm’s enterprise valuations team, scaling the practice to 700+ engagements a month. Prior to Carta, as a Manager at Silicon Valley Bank, he led valuation, underwriting, and advisory engagements for venture-backed technology companies and advised SVB’s Strategic Capital Group on investment opportunities.

Whether Patrick is building a five-year model for a pre-revenue startup, preparing quarterly LP reporting for a fund, or leading diligence on a complex transaction, he brings the same approach: build the financial infrastructure a company needs today, and get it ready for what is next. Patrick is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

 

Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Economics from Fordham University.
